Architecture that senses and responds

This talk by Carlo Ratti:Architecture that senses and responds, is really interesting, he starts off talking about his previous works.

He talked about putting microchips in garbage and tracking where the trash goes, and sees that the garbage system in the United States isnt efficient. He then starts talking about his work on this public structure creating a space with water, When someone comes close to the wall made up of water, it opens up to let the user go in with the use of sensors. Brilliant! but i think it was more interesting when he said there was one day where the sensors werent working and the kids of the place started interacting with the water walls in whole different way, which he and his team did not expect.

The last thing he talked about is creating pixels with light. He made a sort of small mechanic fly looking thing that emits light sort of like a pixel. Its really interesting.
