Digital Alchemy

I got ideas from looking at www.worth1000.com that Joel told us about, especially the Modern Ruins page. Where there is alot of examples of the surreal. I tried to apply this to my concept.







First i had this idea of the city filled with animals. Just heaps of animals roaming the city.



It took alot of time, and my computer kept on crashing because of the hi-res images that i stacked up. So i started thinking of a new idea, I wanted to make it dark and full of contrast. I started looking for hi-res photos. I started out with these photos.










I made them all dark and highly contrasted. I used the billboard photo as an outline and made my own.

Candy Box

Decided to make a package design for the candybar KITKAT.
Started out by scanning a wrapper of Kitkat.


I wanted to make a fairly simple layout with catchy colours, an with a 50's theme to it. I decided to make the background still red but with an infusion of blue, in the sides. Ended up making vector images of the logo's and started from there.

I have been researching on cool and colorful packaging designs.

This book by Narita, Naoko, Limited Edition? to buy or not to buy? It's all in.. has some really nice designs.. More abstract and colorful grahics..

Unique Packaging by Marta Serrats, has a more sleek looking examples but still a lot of cool and nice concepts with their layouts and designs..

Package Design...

So i have been looking at a lot of logo design in this book Los logos 4 : a collection of selected logos by Robert Klanten. Just to find ideas about color schemes and branding. I scanned a few pages of the book.

To start off, i should make a postcard with the phrase,

Isn't life a series of images, that change as they repeat themselves.

so for this project i have looking at a lot of political looking works.



I wanted to use my own photos in this work to make it more personal. I started out with these three photos.





These photos were meant to represent my life, things i love doing and a graduation photo.

I started out by repeating a lot of these photos and started out with this. A Simple background color, Simple Black text.



Then i started to make subtle changes, first with the color of the text, to make it more "pop" adding bright colours.




i thought about the phrase, and wanted to make more copies of the photos in the middle, and adding more noise which were different for every repetition, and having an outline for the text above.
